Road Reconstruction Start to Finish
For most firms, more time is spent redesigning and expanding existing roads than in designing new construction. In this session we'll take an in-depth look at a road reconstruction project, from preliminary design studies through to final layout design. You'll see how a variety of tools are used including aerial photography, survey data and boring data to development preliminary design studies. You'll learn how dynamic templates are used to design exit and entrance road conditions as well as generate quantity estimates for a road reconstruction project. You'll walk away from this construction site with a wealth of knowledge on where Autodesk Land Desktop and Civil Design fit into road reconstruction projects.
Getting the Most from Your Point Data
Almost every project involves point data, whether it is from surveys of existing features, or design points to stake out new construction. Are you getting the most out of this data? In this session, you will learn how to manage and leverage your point data using the new functionality of the Point Group Manager in Autodesk Land Desktop 3. This includes how to generate groups from description keys, store group criteria and reuse on different projects, update groups based on point database changes, and to lock groups.
We will also examine how to work with point XDref data and point labels.Drawing and Data Exchange Made Easy
Key to the success of any land development project is the accurate and efficient exchange of project data. This workshop will explore new concepts in data exchange including the new and improved DWF file for sharing drawing information while protecting your project design. We'll highlight the tools in Autodesk Land Desktop for creating, viewing and printing files. And, you'll learn how to work with LandXML data to share project design information, generate reports, and convert imperial and metric units.
